Ingredients Needed

Simple ingredients come together to create an irresistible family dinner in this sour cream noodle bake recipe! Check out the recipe card for exact measurements.

Beef: Lean ground beef is the hearty base for this pasta bake.

Onion and Garlic: Yellow onion and minced garlic add major savory flavor.

Tomato Sauce: For tangy, savory goodness. You can make homemade tomato sauce or keep things easy by using your favorite canned version!

Salt and Pepper: To taste!

Egg Noodles: We love using wide, tender egg noodles for this recipe.

Sour Cream: Makes this dish perfectly creamy with a nice tang that complements the savory flavors.

Cottage Cheese: Provides the casserole with a creamy texture, subtle tangy taste and a boost of protein.

Salt: To flavor the creamy sour cream mixture.

Seasonings: A mix of onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper bring out so much amazing flavor!

Mozzarella: Shredded mozzarella cheese melts wonderfully and is the perfect topping for this baked pasta.

Green Onions: Optional to garnish for a pop of color. Alternatively, you can garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

How to Make This Sour Cream Noodle Bake Recipe

Get ready for this ground beef noodle bake to be a new favorite with your family! Plus, it’s so easy that you’ll find yourself making it again and again. Here’s how it all comes together:

Prep: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Sauté: In a large skillet, sauté the ground beef and onion over medium high heat. Cook until all the beef is browned, 8-10 minutes. Add in the garlic and sauté another minute.

Add Tomato Sauce: Add in the tomato sauce and salt and pepper, sauté for another 5 minutes stirring continually. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to package directions, drain and set aside.

Make the Sour Cream Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix together the sour cream, cottage cheese, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.

Assemble the Casserole: Mix the egg noodles into the sour cream mixture and pour half of the noodle mixture into the baking dish. Pour half of the meat mixture on top of the noodles.

Bake: Repeat one more layer of noodles then meat sauce and top it with the mozzarella cheese. Bake the casserole for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before topping with green onions and serving.

Tips and Variations

Here are some helpful tips and ways to make this sour cream noodle bake your own!

Make Ahead: Prepare the casserole a day in advance, cover tightly, refrigerate, and bake when ready to serve for a convenient ready-to-go meal.

For the Meat: You can replace the ground beef with ground chicken, ground turkey or lean Italian sausage.

Cottage Cheese: If you don’t like eating cottage cheese and you’re worried you won’t like it in a casserole, I promise once it’s mixed in with the other ingredients, you won’t even realize it’s cottage cheese. It just adds wonderful creaminess!

Noodles: You can swap out the egg noodles for another type of pasta like penne, rigatoni or another favorite noodle variety.

Cheese: Feel free to replace the mozzarella with any cheese you like. Grated sharp cheddar cheese or Colby jack cheese are great choices. Freshly grated cheese, rather than pre-shredded in a bag, will have maximum flavor and melt the best.

Storing Leftovers

You’ll be lucky if you have leftovers! This dish reheats well and makes a great lunch the next day!

In the Refrigerator: Once it’s cooked and cooled, your sour cream noodle casserole will last in the fridge for up to 4 days. To keep it fresh, store it in an airtight container.

To reheat: Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. You can also rewarm individual servings in the microwave.

Classic Potato Salad Recipe

This classic potato salad recipe is cool, creamy, and the perfect side dish for any cookout! Easy to make ahead and so flavorful!

Looking for more potluck-ready side dishes? Try these! Cajun deviled eggs, the best egg salad, and bacon-wrapped smokies!

Why You’ll Love this Potato Salad Recipe

It’s the best. Nothing like the mashed, mushy potato salad in the plastic tubs at the grocery store! Totally understand if you want to stay away from those. But this classic potato salad recipe is a must-make! One bite and you’ll be a believer.

This potato salad is loaded with tender chunks of Yukon gold potatoes, hard boiled eggs, and has a creamy, herby mayo dressing that is full of so much flavor! It’s made with yellow mustard, apple cider for some tang, and tasty seasonings like paprika and dill. A simple but delicious side dish that you’ll want at every cookout as the temperatures warm up!

Ingredients Needed

The basic components of a solid potato salad! This is what I added, but feel free to switch things up with your favorite mix-ins. (I have a few ideas in the tips section below!) And as always, exact measurements are in the recipe card at the end of the post.

Yukon Gold Potatoes: These are the base of the salad, providing starchy goodness in bite-sized pieces. Baby golds are another great option!

Hard-Boiled Eggs: Chopped eggs add protein and richness to the salad.

Mayonnaise: This creamy condiment binds everything together and creates a smooth texture. If you’re not a fan of mayo, use plain Greek yogurt or sour cream.

Yellow Mustard: Adds a bit of tang and complexity to the flavor profile. Dijon mustard also works but will switch up the flavor a bit.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Provides a touch of acidity to balance the richness of the mayonnaise and eggs.

Relish: Adds pops of sweet and tangy flavor to the potato salad that are so delicious!

Green Onion: Chopped so the salad has a mild onion flavor and extra freshness.

Paprika: Adds a touch of smokiness and warmth.

Dill: Infuses the potato salad with a bright flavor. It’s my favorite! Use fresh dill if you can.

Salt and Pepper: Seasoning essentials that enhance the overall flavor. Feel free to adjust to taste!

How to Make the Best Potato Salad

So easy to whip up for a weeknight dinner or get-together with friends and family! This classic potato salad recipe is one that you’ll come back to time and time again.

Boil Potatoes: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil on the stove. Cook the potatoes until tender, about 5-8 minutes. Drain well and move to a large bowl, then cover and place in the fridge to cool completely.

Add Eggs: Once the potatoes have cooled, add the eggs to the bowl and toss to evenly distribute.

Sauce Mixture: In a smaller bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, relish, green onion, paprika, dill, salt, and pepper.

Combine: Pour the sauce onto the potatoes and eggs, then stir to evenly coat the eggs and potatoes in the sauce.

Enjoy or Store for Later: Enjoy fresh, or cover and let it stand in the fridge for a few hours to allow the flavors to develop.

Tips and Variations

Start With the Potatoes: You want to choose good potatoes for boiling, ones that are going to cook up nice and creamy. I like Yukon gold or petite yellow potatoes. I also prefer to choose something with a smooth, thin skin as I usually don’t peel my potatoes! If you prefer no skins on your potatoes, just peel them before they are chopped and boiled.

Add More Texture: If you like a bit of crunch in your potato salad, toss in 2 ribs of finely chopped celery.

Add Those Eggs: You can definitely skip the hard-boiled eggs if you prefer, but I think they add a little variety and some extra creaminess to the salad. Plus, protein!

Make it Your Own: Add in some fresh chopped dill (my favorite!), some crispy bacon, a splash of barbecue sauce or even Sriracha! Feel free to experiment a little until you get your ultimate flavor combination.

Storing Leftover Potato Salad

Keep leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 6 days. It’s great for keeping a stash in the fridge during the week to round out easy meals of grilled meats, burgers, hot dogs, you name it! So feel free to make a big batch and enjoy straight from the fridge!

This potato salad is also great for taking on the go, so bring on the summer potlucks!

Peasant Bread

Make soft homemade bread without any kneading! This easy peasant bread recipe only uses 6 ingredients to make two perfect loaves of bread. Fluffy on the inside with a buttery golden crust on the outside.

There’s nothing like warm homemade bread from the oven! You will love how easy and soft this peasant bread is. For more delicious bread recipes, you should try my Grandma’s homemade bread, this cheesy garlic bread, or my classic sourdough bread.

What is Peasant Bread?

Peasant bread is artisan bread made EASY! All thanks to European peasants who first started this method. It’s an everyday bread recipe that your whole family will devour. With minimal and simple ingredients, you can have warm bread any day of the week. Simply combine the wet and dry ingredients, allow the dough to rise, and easily bake in glass bowls. This fun way of making peasant bread will be your new favorite method!

No-knead bread is the best way to make bread! That’s why I love this peasant bread recipe. For another great no-knead bread recipe, you have to try this miracle bread next! Then make this homemade honey butter and strawberry jam to enjoy with your bread. SO YUMMY!

Peasant Bread Ingredients

This peasant bread recipe only uses 6 ingredients! Simple ingredients that you most likely already have on hand. You’ll love how easy it is to make this homemade bread. Follow the recipe card below for exact measurements.

Warm Water: Lukewarm water is key in helping the yeast to activate.

Honey: The slight sweetness to this bread is so tasty!

All-Purpose Flour: I use all-purpose flour in this recipe, but see my tips below for using whole wheat flour.

Instant Yeast: Instant yeast helps the dough to rise faster!

Salt: Salt helps flavor the dough.

Softened Butter: Use softened butter to grease the bowls and the top of the loaf.

Peasant Bread Recipe

Peasant bread is the easiest bread to make because it doesn’t require any kneading! Follow the recipe card and tips below for everything you need to know before making this recipe.

Grease the Bowls: Grease 2, 1-quart oven-safe bowls with the softened butter on the bottom and sides of the bowl then set aside. I used my Pyrex bowls!

Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, mix the water and honey. In a separate large bowl whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the water and honey mixture into the dry ingredients and mix by hand using a wooden or silicone spoon or spatula. Mix until all the wet ingredients have been absorbed and a loose shaggy dough has formed.

Rise the Dough: Cover and let the dough rest for 45 minutes to an hour, until the dough has doubled in size.

Preheat Oven: While the dough is resting, preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

Divide and Proof the Dough: Once the dough has doubled in size, fold the dough in on itself and split it in half. Place both halves in each prepared bowl. Cover the bowls with a tea towel. Allow the dough to proof until it reaches the rim of the bowl. About 20-30 minutes.

Bake: Brush the tops of the bread dough with butter. Place the bowls with the proofed loaves right into the oven. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for another 15- 20 minutes.

Cool and Slice: Remove the loaves from the oven and turn them over out of the bowls onto a cooling rack. Allow the loaves to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing into them.

Peasant Bread Tips and Variations

Whether you are a bread-making pro or this is your first time making peasant bread, I have some tips that will help everyone! These helpful tips and variations will make your peasant bread a success!

Whole Wheat Flour: You can use whole wheat flour in this recipe, replace half of the all-purpose flour with wheat flour and keep an eye on the texture of the dough while you’re mixing it, you may need to use less or more water than normal so start by adding ⅔ of the water from the original recipe and add more as you mix.

Sweetener: I like to use honey in my bread but you can use 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar instead.

No-Knead Tips: The key to this bread is not handling it the way you would with other breads. You want to handle it as little as possible. When folding the dough after its initial rise, don’t need to form a tight ball. Simply fold it in on all sides then split it in half.

Check For Doneness: The loaves should be golden brown. Once the temperature of the inside of the bread reaches 190 degrees Fahrenheit then it’s ready!

Storing Leftovers

Leftover peasant bread stays fresh in a sealed ziplock bag on the counter. Enjoy it stored at room temperature, or extend the freshness by storing it in in the refrigerator or freezer!

At Room Temperature: Store the cooled bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.

In the Refrigerator: Place the bread in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 1 week!

In the Freezer: You can freeze the baked bread! I like to slice it first, then place it in a freezer bag and freeze it for up to 2 months.

1. In My Kitchen: GreenPan Ceramic Non-Stick Wok Pan

The best pan to cook stir fry is one that has plenty of room for ingredients without overcrowding or sticking. I love the GreenPan brand because everything I’ve tried has been great quality, durable, and affordable, and this ceramic-coated, nonstick wok pan is no exception.

It’s safe to use with metal utensils, so you don’t have to worry about scratching the non-stick (and Teflon-free) surface — this is especially nice if you’re making your stir fry sauce in the pan and want to stir ingredients around!

My Tips:

This pan is metal-utensil safe, but to make sure the ceramic coating stays in great shape, I like to use silicone utensils. My favorites are the Chef Craft Spatula and Chef Craft Spoonula.

This super popular cast iron skillet from Lodge is a great pick thanks to its decent-sized diameter (11 inches) and versatility (it can go in the oven at up to 500˚F!).

It also has an enamel coating, so you don’t have to season it like a regular cast iron pan, which is a HUGE bonus if you’re someone who loves a low-maintenance pan. It’s also protected from rusting, but just make sure you hand wash it instead of popping it in the dishwasher.

Other Stir Fry Pans I’ve Researched

Yosukata Flat Bottom Wok Pan

Made of carbon steel, a common material for traditional woks, this flat-bottom pan is designed for both indoor and outdoor cooking, so you can whip up something tasty on the grill or even a campfire! It comes pre-seasoned, but like cast iron, it requires regular seasoning to keep it in good shape. This wok pan is also hand-wash only, so it generally requires a bit more upkeep than other pans. The Yosukata Flat Bottom Wok Pan is available on Amazon for $59.99.

All-Clad Hard-Anodized Non-Stick Fry Pan

This non-stick fry pan is compatible with gas, electric, glass, and induction stovetops. It’s also broiler-safe up to 500°F, so you can do a quick, crispy finish in the oven. Made by iconic cooking brand All-Clad, this pick is easy to use thanks to the helper handle for added stability, but customers reported the long handle is uncomfortable to hold onto. Also, this model uses a PTFE non-stick treatment that can release chemicals when scratched, so you should stick with silicone, nylon, or wood utensils. The All-Clad Hard-Anodized Non-Stick Fry Pan is available at Amazon for $99.95.

Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Non-Stick Stir Fry Pan

Cuisinart is pretty well known for its line of small kitchen appliances, but the brand has cookware, bakeware, cutlery, and other tools to round out your kitchen at affordable prices. This 12.5-inch pan is a great entry-level option, but it doesn’t rise above the rest as the best wok, especially because of its loftier price point. The Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Non-Stick Hard-Anodized Stir Fry Pan is available at Amazon for $69.99.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Shallow Fry Pan

This enameled fry pan from Le Creuset is great for cooking everything from stir fry to scrambled eggs. It’s a lovely addition to the kitchen, but this pan is pretty expensive, and considering its mid-range reviews from other customers, it’s not clear that the value is there for the price. The Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Shallow Fry Pan is available at Williams Sonoma for $175.

Lodge Bold Cast Iron Pan

This cast iron pan comes pre-seasoned and ready to work. It offers even heat distribution and is super versatile (cook stir fry AND skillet cookies), but it’s heavy and requires extra effort to maintain the seasoning for the best cooking results. The Lodge Bold Cast Iron Pan is available at Amazon for $49.90.

HexClad Hybrid Stainless Steel Non-Stick Wok

This 12-inch wok is compatible with electric, gas, and induction stovetops, is oven-safe up to 500°F, and has a laser-etched non-stick surface that is endorsed by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Stainless steel has a tendency to stain, though, so even though it’s dishwasher safe, it may take some extra effort to keep it looking good. The HexClad Hybrid Stainless Steel Non-stick Wok is available at Walmart for $144.

Why You Can Trust Me

My family and I love a good stir fry, and I always have the best time making them because I can use up any ingredients I have on hand to craft a tasty, healthy meal. Stir fry is a great way to get more vegetables in our diet, and the different flavor combinations are so fun to explore. We love adding proteins to our stir fry, too, so having the right pan to cook veggies and meats evenly is essential.

That’s what inspired me to research the best pans for stir fry — whether you want a traditional wok, a versatile skillet, or a handy frying pan, there are a ton of great options out there. When I began to narrow down my list of the best options, I took a look at some of the most popular brands and models, read through tons of customer reviews, and took some other factors into account, like size, material, and non-stick coating.

There are a few things to keep in mind when purchasing a stir fry pan, like the size, material, weight, ease of cleaning, and type of heat source that it’s recommended for.

Size: If you’re cooking for one or two people, a smaller pan (8-10 inches) is a good diameter. But 12-14 inches will give you plenty of space to work without the pan feeling unwieldy if you’re cooking stir fry for a family or making big batches for leftovers.

Weight: Once loaded with ingredients, stir fry pans can feel heavy. Cast iron pans tend to be heavier than aluminum, and both often feature a helper handle to make it easier to manage the weight. Make sure you choose a stir fry pan that won’t be too heavy to maneuver while cooking.

Material: You’ll see pans made of hard-anodized aluminum, cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel. Stainless steel generally isn’t non-stick, so it’s not ideal for cooking stir fry unless you use a lot of oil. Meanwhile, carbon steel and cast iron often need to be seasoned between uses to maintain cooking performance, with the exception of enameled cast iron. Aluminum pans are generally the lightest option but have a bunch of different non-stick coatings. I prefer ceramic because it’s chemical-free, but it ultimately depends on what you like using in the kitchen!

Heat sources: Most pans will work with the average gas or electric stove. However, if you have an induction cooktop, you definitely need to look for a stir fry pan that’s designed for that.

Cleaning: Do you want to hand-wash your pan every time you use it, or do you like to be able to put it through the dishwasher? Some pans are dishwasher safe, but the manufacturers recommend hand washing to preserve the non-stick finish.

What is the Difference Between a Wok and a Stir Fry Pan?

Wok: A wok is a round, deep, and wide bowl-shaped pan with a flat bottom designed to concentrate heat for searing ingredients, allowing you to cook a bit quicker. It’s also worth noting that a wok heats up and cools down rapidly, and it’s easy to overcrowd the ingredients, so it’s a bit harder to cook food evenly for home chefs who are new to using a wok.

Stir Fry Pan: A stir fry pan is flat and shallow with a wider bottom so that sauces can sit in an even layer. Woks and stir fry pans can both be used to make a great stir fry but may require some trial and error to ensure even cooking for the best results.

In general, if you’re new to cooking stir fry, I would recommend a stir fry pan instead of a wok.

What is the Best Material for Stir Fry?

The best material for a stir fry pan is something you’ll use regularly and gives you the results you’re looking for. If it requires special treatment that you’re not interested in doing, then you’re unlikely to reach for that pan.

Carbon Steel: Many chefs and cooks swear by carbon steel as the best material for stir fry because it’s lightweight and resilient, but it may also require extra effort — like seasoning and special washing instructions — to maintain the pan. Cast iron is also popular for stir fry because of its ability to retain heat, but like carbon steel, standard cast iron requires seasoning and careful washing. Enamel-coated cast iron is a bit easier to work with.

Hard-anodized aluminum: Hard-anodized aluminum has become popular with home chefs because it’s lightweight and durable. Anodized aluminum has undergone a process to make the material safe (it does not have health concerns as standard aluminum does), but also thicker and more durable to create a hard, non-stick, and scratch-resistant surface ideal for cooking stir fry.

Stainless Steel: Stainless steel is perfect for searing protein, cooking veggies, and making sauces, but starchy foods like noodles and rice can stick to it. This means you should be careful when tossing them in at the end of a recipe to coat them with the yummy sauce in your stir fry.

What Kind of Pan is Best for Stir Fry?

By and large, chefs tend to prefer using a wok-style pan for stir fry because the tall sides make it easy to pull ingredients up and away from the concentrated heat at the bottom. There’s also plenty of room for stirring everything together without anything sloshing over the edge of the pan.

However, when your kitchen is short on storage, a standard skillet-style pan is sufficient for making stir fry. Just keep in mind how many people you’re cooking for and select the appropriate-sized pan so you have room to work.

Cruffins

Outrageously wonderful Cruffins are made with just 4 ingredients for a sweet brunch treat that is loved by all! These tender, buttery pastries are made with crescent roll dough rolled up with a cinnamon-sugar mixture and baked until they’re fluffy and soft!

If you love these cozy cruffins, then you will want to try all of our incredible pastry recipes! Try out my favorite Cinnamon-Sugar Donut Muffins, these Boston Cream Donuts or these flakey, fried Cronuts for your next breakfast spread.

What are Cruffins?

If you’ve never tried Cruffins, get ready to be blown away! They are a cross between a croissant and a muffin. You will go crazy for all of the tender layers of a croissant rolled up and cooked in a muffin pan, so these bake up in the shape of a muffin. Cruffins are also similar to cinnamon rolls since the dough is buttered and is rolled up with a mix of cinnamon and sugar. They are perfectly sweet, buttery and over-the-top irresistible!

This Cruffins recipe is not only delicious but it’s also SO easy because instead of making the dough from scratch, you use crescent roll sheets from a tube! With just 4 ingredients, these are so simple that even the most beginner of bakers can create this masterpiece of cinnamon sugar deliciousness!

Ingredients Needed

The four ingredients needed to make cruffins are ones that you probably have in your kitchen right now! These look fancy enough for a special occasion or a holiday brunch, but they’re easy to make anytime. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for all of the exact ingredient measurements.

Ground Cinnamon: For that warm, cozy flavor that is just so delightful.

Granulated Sugar: Mixed with the cinnamon, granulated sugar gives these cruffins the perfect amount of sweetness.

Crescent Roll Sheets: Using crescent roll sheets from a tube makes this recipe super easy and fuss-free!

Salted Butter: Softened butter helps the cinnamon and sugar adhere to the dough and gives these the best buttery taste.

How to Make Cruffins

These cruffins are simple to make because you use ready-to-go crescent roll dough from a tube. Here’s how they come together:

Prep: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a muffin pan well with pan spray, I recommend using a baking spray that has flour in it, like Baker’s Joy.

Combine Cinnamon and Sugar: In a medium bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar and set aside.

Add Filling: Roll out each tube of crescent roll dough until it is a 14×10-inch rectangle. Spread 3 tablespoons of softened butter evenly over each sheet of dough. Sprinkle ¼ cup of the cinnamon sugar mixture over each sheet and spread it until it is even.

Roll the Dough: Tightly roll each sheet up into a long along the long side, pulling the dough taut as needed. Cut the logs in half, so you have 6 short logs. Slice each in half lengthwise, which will expose the layers inside. Carefully roll each split portion starting on one end, keeping the sliced layers facing up. It will look messy, but it will create a pinwheel-looking roll of dough. Pinch the exposed end to the side it touches and place it in a well of the prepared muffin pan. Repeat with the remaining dough until you have 12 cruffins.

Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the centers are fully baked and the edges have turned a deep golden brown. The baking time may differ slightly, depending on your oven. If the center still looks gooey or doughy, bake for a minute or two longer.

Roll in Cinnamon Sugar: As soon as the cruffins are done baking, carefully remove them from the muffin pan and immediately roll them in the remaining cinnamon sugar. Don’t let them sit in the pan! They will be very hot so be careful, but if they start cooling at all in the muffin pan, they will become increasingly difficult to get out of the pan and the cinnamon sugar won’t stick to them.

Cool and Enjoy! Let them cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Tips and Variations

Anyone who tries these cruffins will immediately fall in love with them! These are great for a special occasion, or just to have fun experimenting in the kitchen. Here are a few tips to help, if you are making these for the first time!

Dough: If you can’t find crescent roll sheets, use regular crescent rolls and pinch together the seams.

Appearance: Don’t be discouraged if the cruffins look a little sad when you roll them up and bake them. Once they are rolled in the cinnamon sugar, they really look good and taste even better!

Different Spices: For variation in flavor, try adding ¼-½ of nutmeg, cloves, and ginger in addition to the cinnamon. This will make your cruffins taste like fall!

Storing Leftovers

These are best baked as soon as they are prepared. If you try to make them ahead of time, the cinnamon sugar will begin to weep in the refrigerator. The cruffins will stay good in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Gooey Butter Cookies

If you need more buttery, delicious recipes in your life, try these: gooey butter cake and buttermilk pie!

Gooey Butter Cookie Recipe

If there’s one recipe that’s worth breaking your diet for, it’s gooey butter cookies. These cookies are everything I say and more. Super easy to make, but even easier to devour with their AMAZING taste and texture.

These gooey butter cookies are made with all of the best ingredients. Cream cheese, powdered sugar, yellow cake mix for easy prep, and of course- all the butter. They’re tender, rich, and absolutely irresistible.

Ingredient List

Mix up all of these simple ingredients to get the most rich and gooey cookies out there! All measurements are in the recipe card below.

Cream Cheese: At room temperature so it mixes together smoothly with the other ingredients.

Powdered Sugar: Divided, you’ll use some for the cookies themselves and also for dusting on top.

Unsalted Butter: Again, at room temperature so you get a smooth cookie dough.

Vanilla Extract: For a little extra flavor. I recommend using pure vanilla extract for the best results!

Large Egg: To bind all of the ingredients together.

Boxed Yellow Butter Cake: Butter cake mix is the best if you can find it, but yellow cake mix will also work!

How to Make Gooey Butter Cookies

Anyone can make these butter cookies, they’re so simple! Just mix, shape, and throw them in the oven. The hardest part? Waiting for them to bake! They smell absolutely divine.

Preheat Oven, Prepare Pans: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Then set aside.

Butter and Cream Cheese Mixture: Add the cream cheese, ¼ cup of powdered sugar, and the butter to a large bowl and beat with a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment until combined.

Mix in Remaining Ingredients: Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bow, then add the vanilla, egg, and cake mix. Beat until combined.

Shape: Use a medium cookie scoop, about 2 tablespoons, to scoop the dough. Roll the scooped dough into uniform balls and then roll them in the remaining ¼ cup of powdered sugar until coated.

Bake: Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between them. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges of the cookies just start to brown.

Cool and Serve: Let the butter cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to finish cooling.

Tips and Tricks

These gooey butter cookies are super easy to make, but here are a few more ways to achieve perfection!

Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Let the ingredients come to room temperature before mixing up the dough. Set the cream cheese, butter, and egg on the counter for at least an hour before you begin baking. This will allow the ingredients to incorporate better, without leaving little chunks unincorporated in the dough.

Add More Sugar as Needed: If ¼ cup of powdered sugar isn’t enough to roll all the cookies, use additional sugar as needed.

Avoid Overbaking: Don’t overbake your butter cookies! Bake them until the edges and tops just barely begin browning. They will finish baking as they cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes.

Butter Cake Mix: Yellow Butter Cake will give you the best flavor, but regular yellow cake mix will work quite well if that is what you have on hand or what you can find at the store.

Storing Leftovers

Store leftover cookies at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 7 days. As they sit for a few days, sometimes the cookies can harden a bit. If they start to get too hard, you can throw a slice of sandwich bread in the container to help soften the cookies up.

Muffuletta

The Muffuletta is an iconic sandwich from New Orleans that is piled high with layers of meat, cheese and a delicious olive salad! Served on either Italian bread or muffuletta bread, you’ll be obsessed after the first bite!

Sandwiches are just so good, and there are so many different ways to make them! You’re going to want to try all of our favorites like this Cuban Sandwich, this really filling Corned Beef Sandwich, and this light and refreshing Cucumber Sandwich.

Muffuletta Recipe

This Muffuletta is the best option if you’re craving a meaty, cheesy, fresh sandwich with tons of texture and flavor! It tastes Italian, however no such sandwich exists in Italy. This epic sandwich actually originated in New Orleans at Central Grocery in 1906 where it is still made today.

It’s deliciously layered with Italian cold cuts, including capocollo, genoa salami and calabrese salami, sliced mozzarella and provolone cheese and an incredible homemade olive salad that’s the perfect contrast to the meat. We love to make this in advance for lunch parties and other gatherings. It’s always a hit! Serve it with air fryer potato chipsclassic potato saladcucumber tomato salad, or baked beans for a complete meal.

Ingredients Needed

This muffuletta tastes best with fresh ingredients! You should be able to find everything at your grocery store. There are quite a few ingredients but most are for the olive salad, which is super easy to make, and so worth it! You can find measurements below in the recipe card.

Olive salad

Olives: You’ll need pitted green olives and black olives. The combination of the two varieties adds more complexity to the salad.

Roasted Red Peppers: We like to use jarred roasted red peppers because they’re convenient and have great flavor.

Capers: They have a similar taste to green olives, but with lemony undertones and a bit more tang.

Garlic: Adds a slightly spicy, pungent taste, which is so great in salads!

Dressing: Red wine vinegar and olive oil come together for the vinaigrette.

Seasonings: A mix of parsley and oregano to season the salad.

Salt and pepper: Brings all of the flavors together. Be careful not to use too much salt because the meats in this sandwich are naturally salty.

Sandwich

Bread: Use a nice sturdy bread like Italian bread or muffuletta bread that is strong enough to hold a good amount of filling.

Olive Oil: To lightly drizzle over the inside of the bread before assembling the sandwich.

Meats: Genoa salami, calabrese salami and capocollo are all cured meats that have lots of spices added to make an amazing sandwich.

Cheese: Sliced mozzarella cheese and sliced provolone are classic to the muffuletta, but you can use other types of cheese, if preferred.

How to Make a Muffuletta Sandwich

Making a muffuletta at home is really quite simple! Mix the olive salad together, then assemble your sandwich and devour. Everyone will be shocked that this masterpiece didn’t come from a fancy deli! Here’s how it comes together:

Make the olive salad

For the Salad: Add the green and black olives, red peppers, capers, garlic, red wine vinegar, olive oil, parsley, oregano, salt and pepper to a food processor and pulse until you have a coarse mince, you don’t want to over process the salad.

Assemble the sandwich

Prep the Bread: Slice the bread in half and lightly brush each half with a little olive oil. Spread the olive salad on the bottom side of the sliced loaf.

Layer Ingredients: On top of the olive salad layer the genoa salami, calabrese salami, capocollo, mozzarella, and provolone. Add salt and pepper to taste and top with the other side of the bread.

Serve: Cut the sandwich into quarters and enjoy!

Tips and Variations

Here are some tips and tricks for a fuss-free muffuletta that your whole family is going to LOVE!

Buying the Meat: For the meats on this sandwich you can substitute with any of your favorite cured/deli meats, buying a charcuterie trio meat pack is an easy way to find a good selection of meats for this sandwich.

Extra Olive Salad: If you end up not wanting to use all the olive salad on the sandwich it also makes a great dip for crackers or bread.

Choosing the Bread: You can use any kind of firm bread, something strong enough to hold the sandwich together, regular sliced bread might not be enough and traditionally this sandwich is made with muffuletta bread but that isn’t always easy to find.

Make Ahead: Get a head start by having the olive salad made in advance. You can make it up to 24 hours ahead of time, and then store it covered in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble the sandwich.

Make More: This recipe is for about 1 large sandwich. Consider scaling this recipe to feed more, if you’re serving a family or many people.

Storing Leftovers

To keep your muffuletta ingredients fresh and delicious, store the salad, meats and cheeses all separately from the bread, and refrigerate them until you’re ready to make the sandwich.

Storing Assembled Sandwich: Once you’ve made the sandwich, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. However, it’s best to enjoy as soon as possible because the moisture from the salad and other filling ingredients can make the bread soggy over time.

Beef Taquitos

Cook up a batch of these homemade beef taquitos, you won’t be disappointed! The meaty, cheesy filling and crispy tortilla shell are to die for. A million times better than the frozen kind!

Whether it’s game day, movie night, or you just need a tasty snack for the kids, these beef taquitos are a must-make. Here are a few more recipes you need to try next: molletes, mini burritos, or Mexican pinwheels!

Homemade Beef Taquitos

Whether it’s the frozen kind or the ones you pick up from 7-Eleven, no one can resist a good taquito! (Not that it’s any secret) they’re better homemade. You NEED to give this beef taquito recipe a try!

Good news is, these homemade taquitos are also extremely easy to prepare. Just brown your beef, add in some tasty seasonings, and then roll it up with some shredded cheese in a small tortilla! I’ve included ways to cook these both in the oven and air fryer, whatever is more convenient for you!

Ingredient List

Just a few simple taco ingredients to make these delicious beef taquitos! This is a great recipe to use with leftover taco meat. Then all you need is some shredded cheese and corn tortillas. Check out the recipe card for measurements.

Lean Ground Beef: The foundation of the filling. Even though this is a recipe for beef taquitos, you could easily swap this out for ground pork or turkey instead.

Yellow Onion: Minced to add texture and savory flavor to each bite.

Minced Garlic: Fresh is best to add savory flavor to each taquito.

Diced Green Chiles: Add warmth to the beef filling.

Taco Seasoning: A classic blend of spices to make the ground beef more flavorful. Use your favorite premade kind or make your own blend from scratch!

Corn Tortillas: I used 6-inch tortillas but any size will work. You may just need to adjust the cooking time a little bit.

Shredded Cheese: I used Mexican blend, but you could use cheddar or even pepper jack for a little kick.

Olive Oil: For brushing the tops of the tortillas with. It makes them golden and crispy once they’re baked!

How to Make Beef Taquitos in the Oven

If you’re thinking about making a double batch.. go for it! These homemade beef taquitos go FAST. My kids devour them as soon as they leave the oven.

Cook Onion and Beef: In a large skillet over medium high heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and nearly cooked through.

Mix in Seasonings: To the skillet add the garlic, green chiles, and taco seasoning. Saute until everything has come together and the beef is completely cooked through, remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare Tortillas: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with foil and brush it with olive oil. Place some tortillas on the baking sheet in a single layer and brush the tops with olive oil and bake for 3-4 minutes, just to soften them.

Repeat: Remove the baked tortillas and continue with another batch of them until they are all prepared.

Assemble: To assemble the taquitos, take one tortilla and add about 2 tablespoons of the beef filling and place it on the lower third of the tortilla, tightly roll the taquito and place it on the baking sheet with the seam side down. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.

Bake: Bake the taquitos for 15 minutes, remove from the oven and turn each taquito, then bake for an additional 10 minutes.

Enjoy: Serve the taquitos with fresh cilantro, sour cream, salsa, or your favorite dipping sauce!

Cook Them in the Air Fryer!

To cook these beef taquitos in an air fryer, place the assembled taquitos in an air fryer basket in a single row with space between each one, air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-8 minutes, turn and air fry for another 5 minutes.

Serve the taquitos with fresh cilantro, sour cream, salsa, or your favorite dipping sauce!

3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

These homemade cookies are soft, fluffy and full of creamy peanut butter, and it only takes 3 ingredients to make them! Peanut butter gets mixed together with sugar and a large egg- it’s that simple to whip up a batch!

Cookies are my weakness, especially if you add in peanut butter! Since you all like my peanut butter cookies so much try these Perfectly Soft Peanut Butter Cookies, Amazing Reese’s Peanut Butter Cookies or Peanut Butter Cornflake Cookies (No Bake)!

Quick and Easy Peanut Butter Cookies

These 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies are creamy and dreamy! Just what you are looking for to satisfy your sweet tooth. They are so soft and moist that every bite literally melts in your mouth.

There are seriously only 3 ingredients! Can you believe that?! No flour, (perfect for gluten-free diets!) just sugar and an egg! These cookies are one of my favorites and for good reason. They are so simple to make and bake up perfectly every time. They are thick, rich and chewy. Full of peanut butter flavor and taste SO good with a big glass of milk. I literally make a batch of these and they are gone within minutes.

3 Ingredients to Make Them

Yes! Only 3 ingredients for these peanut butter cookies. They are quick and easy to make and best served warm right out of the oven. Because you only need a few pantry staples to make them, these cookies are ready in minutes and SO delicious. You’re going to want to save the recipe for later.

Sugar: I used white sugar for this recipe but you can also use brown sugar for a deeper, more caramel-like flavor.

Peanut Butter: Creamy is my favorite. I love how smooth the cookie dough gets! But you can definitely experiment with using crunchy peanut butter if you wish!

Egg: Simply whisk a large egg into the dough to give the peanut butter cookies structure.

What Kind of Peanut Butter Works Best?

A creamy peanut butter is best. Natural peanut butter or oil-free peanut butter won’t work as well. To make sure your cookies form properly I recommend using plain JIF, Skippy, Peter Pan, or Trader Joe’s peanut butter.

How to Make 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

3 ingredient peanut butter cookies are perfect for a quick and easy treat. They are a light, fluffy and thick cookie that has the perfect peanut butter flavor. Once they are cooked golden brown in the oven, enjoy warm with a cold glass of milk!

Mix the 3 Ingredients Together: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a medium-sized mixing bowl combine sugar, peanut butter, and egg until smooth.

Roll the Peanut Butter Dough: Scoop out a tablespoon of dough and roll into a ball.  Then using a fork, make a criss cross pattern and lightly press on top of the cookie dough.

Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Enjoy!

Why Do the Cookies Have Fork Marks in Them?

The fork marks on the peanut butter cookies are there to help flatten them. These 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies are more dense than regular cookies because of all the peanut butter added. With the fork markings pressing down on top of the cookie dough before they are being baked, it helps them bake more evenly.

Tips and Variations

Not only are these 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies easy to make, but easy to customize! Use these simple tips:

Brown Sugar: Substitute white sugar with the brown sugar or do half and half for added sweetness.

Egg: Add an extra egg for a lighter texture. Use a cookie scoop to scoop the peanut butter cookie dough since it will be stickier with that extra egg.

Chill: Place in the refrigerator for about 15 to 20 minutes once the peanut butter cookie dough is mixed together. This will help keep the cookie dough from spreading on the cookie sheet while baking.

Toppings: Add chocolate chips, chocolate chunks or drizzle warm chocolate frosting over top of the 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies.

Cookie Sandwich: Spread vanilla frosting or vanilla ice cream on one side of a peanut butter cookie then make a sandwich with another peanut butter cookie on the other side.

Baking: It’s best not to over-bake these peanut butter cookies. For soft and chewy peanut butter cookies under baking them is best. (They’ll continue to cook for a minute or two on the pan after you pull them out of the oven.)

Storing and Freezing Leftover Cookies

If you have extras, keep them at room temperature in an airtight container for 4-5 days.

These 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies and/or the unbaked dough can also be frozen. Pop it in a freezer bag and store for up to 3 months. Just thaw and enjoy or bake the dough when you’re ready!
